What is Maven Gig?Maven Gig is a flexible way to earn money through eligible rideshare and delivery services, so you can shift seamlessly with the daily demand. Drive worry-free with access to new and near new Holden vehicles with unlimited kilometres, servicing and maintenance, insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance all included.
Plus, the convenience of a 28-day minimum rental term, no joining or exit fees and a replacement vehicle if your car is involved in an accident.
Our cars come to you direct from the manufacturer and include the latest in connectivity and safety technology.
How do I get started?Simply download the Maven app and select the second option ‘Drive to earn with ride sharing and delivery services’.

What are the eligibility requirements?
- That you are at least 21 years of age
- You are a registered ride-share driver
- You have less than three at fault motor vehicle insurance claims in the past five years
What documents do I need?
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Passport or Medicare card
- Proof a rideshare company has approved you to drive on its platform in Australia
- Please bring a copy of the above documents to your collection appointment
Do I need a good credit history?Provided you are approved as a driver-partner for Uber in Australia, you qualify to apply for a Maven rental.
Where is Maven Gig available?Maven Gig is available across Australia in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
Am I allowed to use my Maven vehicle for personal use?Absolutely! With our unlimited kilometres, you have the freedom to drive as much or as little as you like for both personal and ride-share use.
Can anyone else drive my Maven Vehicle?Yes, you can add a secondary driver to your account. They aren’t eligible to drive your Maven rental for ride-share use but can drive as much as they like for personal use.
How long does it take to get a vehicle?Once you have downloaded the Maven app and completed the sign-up steps, one of our Maven Experts will review your profile to confirm your eligibility. If you meet the requirements, you will be ready to book the next available appointment.
How do I make a reservation?
- Reserve a vehicle in minutes! Within the app, a list of the available vehicles in your location will be listed - Simply select your preferred vehicle, a pick-up and return time and hit reserve. Next, choose an appointment time and confirm your reservation.
- If there is no vehicle available, just keep checking the app and make sure you reserve the next available car or contact us on 1800 466 283 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will always do our best to get you hustling!

Does my rental include a hire car license?Yes! Your rental also includes a hire car licence for the state which you are driving in. Some states require you to carry a printed licence in your vehicle, this will be provided to you by Maven. Otherwise, your vehicle will be registered to operate as a ride-share vehicle.
You may also be required to have your vehicle inspected during your rental period. Maven will contact you if this is required.

State License to operate as a booked hire car VIC No license needs to be carried in vehicle. Vehicle is registered with Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria. NSW No license is required. QLD Booked Hire Service is supplied by Maven with the vehicle. WA Charter Vehicle is supplied by Maven with the vehicle.

Accident and Insurance Questions
Am I insured?You sure are! We provide Maven Program Damage Cover which is a comprehensive insurance cover including 24/7 roadside assistance.
You will be emailed a confirmation of insurance document on the same day you pick up your vehicle, allowing you to onboard your vehicle with ride-share providers.
What happens if I’m in an accident?Ensure that everyone involved is safe. If there are any serious injuries, call an ambulance on 000. After you have attended to all medical issues, please read the Maven Accident Instructions (located in your glove box) and Maven Program Damage Cover (press 8) on 1800 466 283 as soon as possible within 48 hours of the accident occurring.
What if I'm involved in an accident, but I'm not at fault?Drivers who are not deemed not at fault will get the bond refunded once the claim has been settled.
Is there any excess?Yes. In the situation that you are liable for an insurance claim we provide a capped excess of;
- $1,000 for drivers aged 25 and above
- $1,500 for drivers aged 21 to 24
An insurance holding fee of $1,000, or the maximum excess (if it’s clear that you are at fault) would be charged on top of your weekly payment once you have made a claim.
What happens if my vehicle is due to be serviced?For regular servicing and to keep everyone safe on the road, we require you to service your vehicle at the kilometre intervals outlined in the owners handbook, which can be found in your glovebox. Please see our list of service locations located in each state for your convenience.

If you have an issue that cannot be resolved within 48 hours you can call Maven Member Services directly and we can help you get back on the road as quickly as possible.
What happens if I don't service my vehicle?In the event a vehicle is not serviced an overdue service fee will apply of $150 per offence.
What if something else is wrong with the car?If anything ever seems wrong with the car (funny noise or a leak, etc.), take the car to one of our service locations for inspection, service or repair.
If you have an issue that cannot be resolved within 24 hours, you can call Maven Member Services directly and we can help you get back on the road as quickly as possible.
What are the upfront costs?You are charged the $400 bond when you make your reservation via the Maven app. If we cannot process the funds, your reservation is not confirmed.
How does your billing work?

How do I update my credit card details?You can update your card in the Maven App. Please make sure the credit or debit card associated with your account is up to date and has sufficient funds before your billing date. Please note we do not accept pre-paid or gift cards.
What if I miss my weekly payment?If you miss your payment don’t worry, we’ll try again each Tuesday and Friday at 6am AEDT as well as the day of the week your rental starts.
You can also pay any outstanding invoices yourself in the Maven App.
If you fall more than two weeks behind in your rental payments, your reservation may be cancelled and your membership terminated.

What about other costs?At Maven we don’t like to hide any of our terms. Below is a list of fees and when they would apply to you.
- Late payment fees of $10 per day
- A fee up to $400 for minor vehicle damage that is beyond fair wear and tear when a vehicle is returned, but the damage is not significant enough for an insurance claim. This will reduce the cost and process for our drivers versus an insurance claim, but it is only for minor damage as assessed by Maven.
- Cost of professional cleaning or odour extraction due to the car being in an unsuitable state or due to smoking fee up to $300
- Lost or damaged key fee $400
- Wrong petrol type put into the car
- Processing fee of $20 if we receive your tolls or infringements
What happens if I get parking or driving infringements?Infringements of any kind incurred are the sole responsibility of the driver. Any infringements received by Maven will be redirected to you and will attract a $20 processing fee. Please be aware any infringement received will be posted to your nominated address.
How do I pay for e-TAG use?You need to have a Linkt account (VIC, NSW, QLD only ), with your own eTag in your vehicle. Using other toll operator accounts (e.g. Eastlink, RMS) may cause your tolls to go to Maven directly. Please ensure you use a Linkt account, and always keep your account in positive balance to avoid additional fees.
Any tolls which come through to Maven directly will incur a $20 admin fee per week.
